WEEK 1&2 (end =))

I will end what i have known about this 2 week by posting about computer hardware basics, which are motherboard, CPU and main memory
Motherboard is the main circuit board in system unit – a case that contains electronic components (processor, memory, expansion cards…) and most storage devices.

The CPU – Central Processing Unit includes two parts: Control Unit (CU) and Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU).

The next is about the Main Memory of computer hardware basics.
There are two types of memory:
Ram (random access memory): It holds the program instructions and data that is being used by the processor – it loses its contents when power is turned off.
Rom (read only memory): it holds the program instructions and settings required to set up the computer – it does not lose the contents when power is turned off.

Then, it's about Input and Output.

  • Input is any data and instructions entered into the memory of a computer - can be in the form of programs, commands, and user responses. They are the keyboard, pointing devices, game controllers, digital cameras, voice input, video input, scanner and reading devices, Biometric Input and terminals.

  • Output is data that has been processed into a useful form. An output device is any type of hardware component that conveys information to one or more people. They are Display devices, Printers (impact printer and non-impact printer), audio output device, data projector, force feedback...

Finally, i will talk about the storage, which holds data, instructions and information for future use. There are many types of storage such as: hard disks, plash memory storage, optical discs, and others.
